Oh Hyuk has a voice that sounds like it is arriving from a slightly different frequency than everything around it — nasal, high, cut with something reedy and intimate — and this track builds specifically around that quality, surrounding it with guitar textures that hover rather than propel. The production is gauzy, with reverb applied generously enough that the edges of sounds blur into one another. The tempo is moderate but unhurried, structured around a groove that drifts forward without urgency. Conceptually the song takes the idea of disconnection as its emotional center: putting yourself out of reach, choosing not to be found, the particular relief of being unavailable. There is no melodrama in how the idea is handled — it is presented with the same studied cool that runs through much of the band's catalog, but underneath the cool is something more genuinely melancholy, a recognition that the desire to go unreachable is itself a kind of longing. The guitar work is understated and slightly oblique, favoring texture over statement, and the rhythm section holds back enough to let the vocals carry the weight. Hyukoh's appeal to a young Korean creative class was built partly on this — the ability to make introversion feel aesthetic, to treat withdrawal as a form of sophistication. This song is best heard through headphones on a plane or a train, watching landscapes pass without destination, when actual airplane mode seems like the most honest possible response to the world outside the window.
