"TOP" was written as the opening theme for the anime *Tower of God*, and the assignment shapes every choice in it. The track has to function as a climb — so it builds. It opens with a taut, almost martial percussion figure and a minor-key synth motif, then stacks tension through verses that keep withholding the release before the chorus finally breaks open with the repeated cry of reaching the summit. Compared to the group's more chaotic singles, the structure here is unusually clean and forward-driving, closer to a rock-adjacent anime OP than to their trademark noise collage, and that discipline serves it. Bang Chan and Changbin's raps carry the grind of ascent, while Lee Know and Felix's lower tones add a subterranean weight and Seungmin and I.N handle the melodic lift. The lyric is pure ambition mythology — the top exists, others are climbing it too, you go anyway, knowing the height is also the danger. It's one of the earliest tracks that brought Stray Kids to a global audience outside K-pop channels, arriving through anime fandom before the Billboard chart runs.
