A fragile piano motif anchors the piece, but it is surrounded by electronic textures that blur and distort like a signal losing coherence — static-adjacent sounds that feel less like production choices and more like symptoms. The tempo is slow but not peaceful; there is a trembling quality to the rhythm, as though the music itself is uncertain whether to continue. Okabe layers in orchestral strings that arrive muffled, as if heard through walls or water, giving the piece a dissociated quality perfectly suited to its subject: the confusion of a consciousness that has been told its emotions are not real, yet experiences them with full, terrible force. The emotional register is not sadness exactly — it is something closer to the bewilderment of feeling too much while simultaneously being told you feel nothing.
