There's more momentum in "Wild" than is typical for Beach House — the drums sit higher and more insistent in the mix, nudging the song forward with an urgency that feels almost physical. But the production never abandons the band's core language: the organ still drones at the center of everything, synth tones still gather and blur at the edges, and Legrand's voice still arrives from somewhere deep and unhurried, anchoring all that forward motion to something interior and still. The tension between propulsion and suspension is what makes the track remarkable. Lyrically it circles the idea of wildness not as freedom but as a quality inherent to feeling itself — something that resists domestication, that exists outside the structures we build to contain our lives. The vocal melody has a slight circular quality, returning to the same intervals again and again as if testing whether the feeling has changed, discovering that it hasn't.
