Where many of Ed Rush & Optical's contemporaries were pushing drum and bass toward complexity, "Chubb" finds power in density and weight. The track is built around a mid-range that feels almost physically thick, synth textures stacking on one another until the sound mass reaches something close to claustrophobic.
