Trey Azagthoth's guitar work operates on a different plane from conventional metal: the riffs are angular, serpentine, built from diminished intervals and chromatic runs that suggest ancient scales rather than Western rock tradition. The tone is thick but not muddy, each note distinctly cruel. David Vincent's vocals sit somewhere between a growl and a bark, articulate enough that the syllables land with force, aggressive enough that the words feel like incantations rather than lyrics.
