"Soñar (Breaker)" is the NMIXX thesis compressed into three minutes — the "MIXX POP" idea of songs that refuse to hold one shape. It opens in a Latin register, nylon-string guitar figures and a loping reggaeton-adjacent sway, all warm dusk and swaying hips, then detonates into a hard drum-and-bass breakbeat that ratchets the tempo into a completely different room. The seam is deliberately unhidden; the drop is a jump cut, not a transition. What holds it together is the vocal arrangement, which threads a single melodic idea across both halves so the ear can trace continuity through the chaos. Lily's tone floats over the Spanish-inflected sections with real ease, while Sullyoon's clarity anchors the breaks. The title's double meaning — to dream, and the breakbeat that shatters it — is the whole argument: dreaming isn't soft here, it's a violent act of will. Released in 2023 as the group was still fighting the perception that their genre-splicing was gimmick rather than identity, it doubled down instead of retreating.
