Lizzo
A frenetic, tongue-in-cheek pop-rap banger that moves at the speed of someone genuinely excited about cardio — which is to say, ironically. The production is punchy and kinetic, with synth riffs that feel like they're trying to keep up with themselves, a beat that bounces rather than thuds. Lizzo's vocal delivery here is closest to spoken word at times, rapid-fire and rhythmically dense, the words tumbling over each other with barely enough space to land before the next line arrives. Emotionally it's almost entirely comedic — a high-energy deflection of a song, making a joke out of wellness culture while simultaneously being genuinely motivating in spite of itself. The lyric project is absurd and self-aware: the exercise is a stand-in for processing emotion, moving the body as a way of not having to sit with feelings. Culturally it taps into a specific millennial/Gen-Z humor about self-improvement as both sincere pursuit and content — the kind of ironic sincerity that knows the joke but commits to it anyway. It works best as exactly what it sounds like: workout music that doesn't pretend to be more important than it is, but lands harder than you expect because the production is genuinely good underneath the bit. High-energy, self-aware, aggressively fun.
