There is a particular kind of grief that belongs only to adolescence — formless, enormous, with no clear object — and Parannoul's "Analog Sentimentalism" is built entirely from that grief. The production is deliberately wounded: guitars recorded through cheap equipment until they bloom into massive walls of static and feedback, the low fidelity not a limitation but a statement that rawness is the point. Underneath the noise, a melody persists that is almost unbearably tender, like trying to hold something that keeps dissolving.
