This is Asian Kung-Fu Generation at their most emotionally direct — the song moves through grief and disorientation with a kind of forward-motion therapy, as if the act of playing fast enough might metabolize the sadness. Gotoh's vocal delivery here is tighter and more controlled than in some of their wilder work, but there's still an undercurrent of strain in the upper register that keeps it from feeling clean or resolved.
