"Starship Trooper" works in three distinct movements that feel like different weather systems. The opening section, "Life Seeker," carries the full band in a major-key brightness — acoustic and electric guitars layered, Anderson singing about hope and forward motion with a directness rare in prog's often oblique vocabulary. The middle movement, "Disillusion," strips everything back: a single acoustic guitar, vocals close and intimate, the song suddenly personal and fragile. Then the final third, "Würm," abandons conventional song structure entirely for something closer to ritual. A single repeating guitar figure cycles slowly while the whole band builds around it — layer by layer, louder and louder — without harmonic resolution, without arrival, just sustained ascent.
