Spyair arrive at Imagination with the confidence of a band that has found the exact intersection between stadium rock bombast and shōnen anime sincerity, and they exploit it without apology. The opening guitar riff has a bright, almost arena-pop clarity — clean enough to feel like possibility, loud enough to feel like momentum — and the rhythm section underneath it swings with a looseness that keeps the song from ever feeling rigid despite its considerable energy. Vocalist Ike has always specialized in a kind of earnest ferocity: he doesn't snarl, he insists, and there's a crucial difference. The verses are conversational, almost confessional, before the pre-chorus tightens into something like resolve and then the chorus opens wide into something that sounds like the first spike of a volleyball clearing a blocker.
