This Uriah Heep track opens like a piece of classical music that has wandered into the wrong decade — Ken Hensley's organ building a cathedral of sound before the rhythm section arrives to anchor it in rock. The piece is genuinely long, structured more like a suite than a conventional song, moving through distinct emotional movements in a way that rewards listening from beginning to end without interruption. Hensley's vocal has a theatrical quality, committed and slightly overwrought in a way that feels completely sincere rather than mannered — he means every syllable, and the earnestness is part of the charm. Lyrically it maps the transition from night to morning as a metaphor for emotional rebirth, the coming of light as relief after darkness, and the treatment is almost devotional in its intensity.
