Everything about "Power" earns its title through restraint rather than brute force — which is Stephan Bodzin's particular genius. The track doesn't announce itself loudly but builds with such structural intelligence that by the time you're inside it, the music seems to have become atmospheric pressure. A synth motif recurs throughout with slight variations, hypnotic in the way that genuinely hypnotic music is: not by numbing you but by returning your attention again and again to the same object until that object opens into something larger.
