Where some of Krush's music feels like motion through space, this feels like the moment motion stops — a terminus rather than a journey. The emotional landscape is vast and complicated: there is sadness in it, but also a quality that approaches acceptance, as though the track has passed through something and emerged on the other side changed but intact. Lyrically the collaborations he often employed elsewhere are stripped away here, leaving pure instrumental atmosphere to carry whatever meaning the listener brings to it. This belongs to the mid-2000s peak of abstract turntablism, when DJs were being recognized as composers in the fullest sense.
