Koe Wetzel has always operated in that particular Texas space where country grit and rock distortion argue with each other and nobody wins clean, and this song carries that tension in its bones. The guitars have a roughness that the production doesn't sand down, and the rhythm has a swagger that stops just short of stumble — he exists right at that line deliberately. His voice is ragged in a way that sounds earned rather than performed, a timbre that's been through some things and isn't pretending otherwise.
