"숙제 (Homework)" catches 이영지 at the intersection of her two selves: the sharp-tongued rapper who won Korea's biggest hip-hop competition as a teenager, and the disarmingly candid variety-show presence the whole country now knows. The production is deliberately unshowy — a soft, slightly lo-fi loop, muted keys, drums brushed rather than struck — which leaves her voice fully exposed. She raps low and close, almost muttering, then drops into a plain, untrained-sounding sung hook that is more affecting for its imperfection. The homework metaphor works as a wry description of adulthood: assignments nobody grades, deadlines with no teacher, the constant sense of being behind on a life you never got a syllabus for. It speaks directly to the Korean twenty-something condition — the endless preparation, the exhaustion of always studying for a next stage — while resisting any tidy resolution or motivational uplift. That refusal is what makes it land. Best listened to on a bus home from a shift, or in a small room late at night with the desk light still on and nothing actually finished, when what you want isn't encouragement but the company of someone admitting they're tired too.
