The title means takeoff, and "Décollage" earns it — from its opening bars, the track conveys upward momentum, a sense of physical and emotional lift generated through carefully layered electronic tango. Bajofondo constructs a propulsive groove from a stuttering, mechanized beat and a bandoneon line that rises in pitch with each repetition, creating genuine aerodynamic tension. The production is more polished here than on much of the collective's catalog, the rhythmic programming precise and clean, the mix wide and bright. A female vocal weaves through the later sections with a cool, distanced quality, more texture than lyric, as though the human voice has been absorbed into the machinery of the sound. This is tango as velocity, stripped of the salon and pressed into the context of movement — airport terminals, departure gates, the irreversible moment of leaving somewhere behind. It's nostalgic only in retrospect; in the moment, it simply moves.
