Bright-toned and unambiguously triumphant, "Elevate" arrives in the Scorpion sequence like a statement of surplus energy — the production warm and spacious where much of the album is cold and cramped, the beat carrying genuine momentum. Drake's vocal delivery is loose and confident, the rapping voice at ease with its own capability, the bars flowing without the effortful quality that marks more defensively constructed material. The lyrical content is celebratory in the specific mode of someone who has been questioned and outlasted the questioning: this is not the happiness of someone who has never doubted but the satisfaction of someone who doubted and proceeded anyway.
