"Corners of the Earth" features RY X, an Australian singer whose voice carries something genuinely elemental — a rawness that sounds like it costs something to produce, a falsetto that never quite loses the roughness that gives it character. ODESZA constructed an appropriately vast frame: the track is among their most ambitious productions, building from intimate beginnings through multiple expansion phases until it occupies something close to orchestral scale. The lyric reaches toward the edges of known territory, geographic and emotional, the corners where ordinary maps run out.
