Zazu

"Zazu" arrived as a street anthem before the industry had catalogued it — the kind of track that moves on phones and from market speakers and across party floors before any algorithm has found it. Portable's Yoruba-language delivery has the quality of spoken word meeting street slang meeting Afrobeats percussion, sitting in the fertile territory between Fuji music and contemporary Afrobeats that artists from Lagos's working-class neighborhoods have developed largely outside mainstream attention.
