If "RES" approaches liberation obliquely, "Set Me Free I'm an Animal" states its premise in the title and spends its runtime proving the necessity of the demand. The production here is rawer and more confrontational — guitar elements that suggest punk without fully adopting its aesthetics, rhythm tracks driven by something compulsive rather than grooved, a sonic texture that communicates genuine urgency. Sega Bodega's voice carries an edge that his more polished production work sometimes softens, and here that edge is load-bearing — the animal in the title needs to be audible in the delivery for the song's claim to land. Lyrically it connects to a tradition of songs about constraint and the body's demand for release running from early punk through industrial into contemporary experimental pop, but his version is more interior, less interested in external systems of control than in the cages we've internalized. The emotional landscape is simultaneously fierce and desperate, a difficult combination to sustain, and the production's controlled aggression is what allows the song to hold those two registers without collapsing into pure catharsis or pure complaint.
