It begins with a torrent of real, sampled malice: whispered accusations, headlines, the ambient sludge of Korean internet comment sections layered into an anxious collage over industrial percussion and a menacing low drone. There's almost no melody in the traditional sense; the piece works as overture and mission statement, tension without release, built to detonate into the album proper. The vocals are spoken, sneered, distorted — Chaewon and Sakura and the rest delivering lines less like idols than like defendants who've stopped apologizing. The lyric's conceit is the mythological hydra: cut off one head of criticism and two more grow, so the only answer is to stop cutting and start walking. That's a startlingly direct acknowledgment from a group that survived a debut scandal and relentless scrutiny over their "fearless" concept.
