Raw, lurching early punk-inflected rock — two minutes and ten seconds of stripped-down aggression built on a descending guitar figure, Duff McKagan's snapping bass, and Steven Adler's loose, off-the-cuff drumming. The production captures a band that sounds like it might fall apart at any moment and is all the more compelling for it. Axl Rose's vocal delivery is sardonic and conversational, barely bothering to reach for the notes, more interested in attitude than technique. Lyrically, "It's So Easy" is a statement of effortless predatory confidence — everything the speaker wants comes without struggle, every conquest immediate. Read literally it sounds callous; read as persona, it functions as a performance of the id, an exaggerated masculine bravado that the song's rawness subtly undermines. Culturally, the track belongs to the first wave of Guns N' Roses' mythology — the Sunset Strip era, when the band seemed genuinely dangerous rather than commercially calculated. It has the quality of something recorded before anyone told the band to be careful. Today it sounds best in contexts where polish is the enemy: dive bars, garage workouts, road trips through ugly beautiful landscapes where you want music that doesn't flatter anything.
