"Eclipse" closes Pink Floyd's *Dark Side of the Moon* not as a grand finale but as an exhale after revelation, Roger Waters' voice riding a hymnal swell that accumulates everything the album has circled. The structure is deceptively simple: a list, a catalog of everything human beings do and are and feel, each clause beginning with "all" — all you touch, all you see, all you create, all you destroy. The choir enters in waves, female harmonies filling the space that Waters' plain baritone opens. Then, at the moment of apparent resolution, an elderly doorman at Abbey Road speaks quietly: "There is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact, it's all dark."
