ノーダウト was among the tracks that established Higedan as something different from what Japanese mainstream pop had recently offered — the production brings jazz harmony into a rock-pop framework with a confidence that doesn't call attention to its own sophistication, chord changes functioning as emotional logic rather than intellectual display. Fujihara's voice has a slightly more casual, conversational quality compared to his ballad work, as if the jazz influence has loosened something in the delivery — less formal reach for the heights, more assured ground-level authority. The brass arrangements are punchy and present, adding a sense of occasion and energy without tipping into pastiche. The declarative title functions as a kind of challenge: no doubt, I'm certain, and the certainty is itself the subject.
