Sweetune's production is dense and unfashionable in the best way — layered analog-sounding synths, a driving rock guitar buried mid-mix, a snare that cracks like a gated 1985 drum machine, and a key change late in the song that arrives with total sincerity. The melody is relentlessly upward-moving; there's barely a moment of rest. The lyric is about pursuing someone who has already left, chasing a person who is gone, and the arrangement mirrors that with its refusal to settle. Sunggyu's slightly hoarse, strained tenor is the emotional center — he sings at the top of his range for most of the track, which makes the desperation sound involuntary rather than performed. Woohyun's cleaner tone and Hoya's rap fill the corners. It won multiple year-end awards in 2012 and is still the song fans point to when explaining why INFINITE mattered.
