"SLUMP" carries the weight of its assignment: written as the Korean ending theme for the anime Tower of God, it had to sound like exhaustion that keeps climbing. The arrangement builds from a lonely piano and a hollow, echoing drum into a full rock-leaning chorus, with distorted guitar entering late enough that its arrival feels like a second wind rather than a hook. Strings ghost underneath the final chorus, thickening rather than announcing themselves. Vocally it's one of their most openly strained performances — the high notes are pushed rather than polished, and the roughness is the point; Han's rap verse in particular cracks with a frustration the mix leaves intact. The lyric is a plainspoken account of a slump: the day where effort produces nothing, where you can see the wall and cannot name it, and the only available response is to keep moving without any promise it will work. Notably, it never resolves into triumph. Korean idol music often converts hardship into an inspirational payoff; this stops just short, which is why it resonated well beyond the anime's audience.
