The club version of "SeeSaw" stretches the *In Colour* original into something patient and communal, and the collaboration shows in every layer — Four Tet's fingerprints in the granular, wind-chime tone of the synth work, Romy Madley Croft's voice carrying the emotional weight. Her delivery is the opposite of a diva vocal: breathy, close-mic'd, almost conversational, singing about the push and pull of a relationship where two people can't both be up at once. The lyric essence is the title made literal — the exhausting arithmetic of loving someone whose moods counterweight your own — and Romy sings it without accusation, more like recognition. The production keeps the original's twinkling, off-kilter melody but gives it room: extended intro, a bassline that walks rather than lunges, hi-hats that shimmer instead of snap. Where the album cut felt like an interior monologue, this version aims at the room, pacing itself for a DJ's long mix. Its placement on a *Future Disco* poolside compilation is telling — it's warm-climate music that hasn't forgotten it was made by South London melancholics. Best encountered outdoors after dark, in that stretch of a party where conversation has softened and people are dancing with their eyes half-closed, or on a late drive with the windows down.
