Super Lady

"Super Lady" is a manifesto with a horn section. The title track of 2 opens with an insistent, almost martial percussion pattern before unfolding into a maximalist arrangement — brass stabs, orchestral flourishes, a bass that lurches under the chorus, and a structure that keeps refusing to resolve where you expect it to. Soyeon's production instincts favor collision over polish; sections crash into each other, and the pre-chorus and chorus swap their expected energies so the biggest moment arrives sideways. The vocal delivery spans the group's full range of registers: Yuqi's dark chest voice as the low anchor, Miyeon and Minnie soaring above, Shuhua given more presence than usual, and Soyeon rapping in her characteristic snarling staccato. The lyric is unambiguous — a woman naming her own scars as the source of her power, refusing the pity and the pedestal alike, addressed to other women rather than to any lover. In a K-pop industry that mostly still sells girl-group empowerment as an aesthetic, i-dle write it as autobiography, which is why they've become the reference point for artists who want the credit line as well as the choreography.
