"스피드" is the up-tempo counterweight on Kim Gun-mo's fourth album, built for motion rather than reflection. The track runs on a fast, four-on-the-floor pulse with punchy synth stabs, slap-inflected bass, and the mid-'90s Korean dance-pop sheen that borrowed heavily from Eurodance and new jack swing without fully committing to either — the drums are gated and bright, the mix aggressive in the way records of that moment were mastered for radio and roller rink alike. Kim attacks it with a percussive, clipped phrasing that's a long way from his ballad mode, riding the beat rather than floating over it, and the rasp in his voice reads as exhilaration here instead of ache.
