사계
AKMU
사계 is one of AKMU's most structurally ambitious pieces, cycling through four distinct emotional registers within a single track without ever feeling disjointed. The production shifts character across each movement — from a breezy folk-pop opening that carries genuine warmth, through a section with denser harmonic texture and mounting unease, into passages that feel almost confessional in their intimacy. Suhyun's voice is the through-line, adapting its color to each season: bright and open in the early passages, more constrained and searching as the song moves inward. The instrumentation follows — strings arrive and recede, the rhythm becomes less certain, acoustic and electric elements trade weight. The song is essentially about time and how relationships change within it, how the same connection can feel like different things across years and moods. It resists a single emotional reading because it insists on the full arc. This is not background music — it demands presence, rewards repeated listening, and tends to surface memories the listener didn't know they'd stored. People return to it at the end of years, or after a long relationship has changed shape, needing something that can hold contradiction without resolving it.
