Interpretation

"花になれ" (Hana ni Nare) is flumpool's early statement of purpose, a rock song built around a plainly stated wish: *become a flower*. Where later flumpool leaned into cinematic strings and ballad polish, this one is closer to a live band in a room — driving eighth-note guitars, a bass that actually moves, a chorus that arrives on a rush rather than a swell. The tempo is brisk enough to feel like walking fast toward something. Yamamura's vocal sits forward in the mix, unpolished at the edges, delivering the sort of direct encouragement that Japanese rock does without irony: the flower here isn't decoration but proof that something grew out of hard ground. The metaphor stays concrete — seeds, soil, blooming — which keeps the sentiment from evaporating into vagueness. It came from the band's indie-to-major transition and carries that specific hunger, the sound of musicians who have not yet been told they'll be fine. Culturally it belongs to the graduation-song tradition, played at school ceremonies and in end-of-season sports montages, but it earns its place there by being about effort rather than achievement. Good for a morning you don't want to start, or for the last kilometer of a run.
